Ouch!

It hurt to do it but I just ordered the 3/4″-14 NPS tap I need to couple the sensor to a PVC or iron pipe mounting bracket.  After spending way too much time on google and amazon to no avail and getting no help at all from the sensor company I could not find any alternative that was not a complete kludge so I went ahead and spent the $50 for the tap that will only be used once!

Thanks to the generosity of some BigTreesTech participants,  the expenses for this project are not a burden, just the time and effort.  I just cringe at spending so much on a tool that will only be used once for about 5 minutes!

I’ve taken some time off from the project over the last week or so but plan to get back to the programming and testing tomorrow.  Once the programming is done and verified I will need to buy the direct bury cable, build the mounting system, put the sensor in place and calibrate the distance to bare ground.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your perspective, it looks like I’ll have time to get it done before we have any significant snow in Dorrington.

Happy New Year!

P.S. check THIS out 🙂
