This weekend’s training ride will be challenging and thought you’d enjoy this motivational picture.

Thank you! Teddi Pauls office was able to write a policy for me.

Yes, the local State Farm agent in Murphys was able to write a policy for me. My local State Farm rep (San Mateo) was shocked when I told him.

    Thanks for all the help!

If you don’t want to go as far north as Peltier Road, take Turner Road off the I-5 east toward Lodi; it misses most of the town traffic in Lodi. Turner Road dead-ends into Cherokee Lane: turn right, go a block and turn left at the first signal and you are on your way to connect with Hwy 12 and on to Lockeford.

Anyone from the flats headed down the hill Monday or Tuesday and could help us out? We forgot an item at our cabin and would love to shorten/skip the rescue drive…

Please text or call four zero eight 386 147seven if you might be able to help get an item towards silicon valley.

It’s a long shot but figured we’d ask before rearranging schedules and driving all the way.

    Thanks.

Well i got a 15′ mast and antenna up on our cabin. Now i can hear the dodge ridge and angel’s camp (fowler) repeaters clearly. i tried the 146.520 but i probably got on a bit too late.

I’m a ham and will be heading up to Arnold this afternoon. I usually monitor the 145.17 repeater (Fowler Peak), but that might be too far away from BTV for you to access. I’ll listen on 146.52 when I get close to Arnold and maybe we can talk simplex. Congrats on your ticket!

Another way to travel. 12 from Suisun, north on I5 to Peltier. Peltier to Elliot (about 15 minutes). Elliot to Lockforde, left at light and you are back on 12 to San Andreas. It is faster than driving thru Lodi.

I bet with the extra air, the smoke is not as bad. The extra air means more heat, and a cleaner more efficient burn.

Other counties in the Sierra offer free pickup in yard waste bags. All you have to do is load into the bags. They have figured out that the needles and organic matter can be turned into compost or fuel that can be sold for additional profit.

I bought a metal grate with another person from Angels Camp Sheet Metal (4’* 8′ split in half) and dug a small
hole, lined it with rocks, and laid the sheet metal on
top. The air circulates underneath and the yard debris
    burns really fast. Very efficient.

there is no CW requirement anymore. your license is good for 10 years and then you have a 2 year grace period to renew. to change your address you have to contact the fcc.

i was actually looking for repeaters in the area.

Back in the day when I got my license I had to learn Morse code. I don’t think you need to now days. HAM radio is “supposed to” keep the world connected in the event of a major catastrophe, but like you said, maybe not so important these days.

Here’s an example of HAM radio these days:

I see a bit of irony in HAM operators contacting each other via internet. HAM is becoming a lost art though. Glad you are keeping it up. Do you still need to learn Morse code for a license?

Just checked and mine is still active. Do you know who I should contact to change my address?
