Starting to think about this year’s clean up. We’ve burned in the past but are thinking to rent a bin given our calendar… how many yards of needles will a 1/3acre produce? I realize there are many factors but if you do your yard diligently every year and have a mix of cedar and pine, can you get away with the 3yd bin or is the 20yd bin needed? I’m guessing the sweet spot is just between.

Anyone have data to share on the cost for hiring someone else to do the deed?

cmon4day – We are leaving to visit our daughter in Oregon on Friday, April 3rd. A friend of mine said he will help cut the wood into rounds and split (divide) it with you. His name is Ira and his cell number is 209-595-8462. He is in BTV but gets cell reception at his place. Yes, I have a trailer and Ira can borrow it. Sorry about the wrong email address. That’s my username somewhere else……. 🙁

    Hey Allen,
I bit off more than I can chew with this oak. Do you have a trailer? If so, I’ll split (no pun intended) the wood with you. I’ll help you if you help me.

I’m up here this week so let me know.

    Thanks.

Here is how I believe private messages work… but I am not 100% sure because I did not write the code and it did not come with thorough documentation.

    A) If you scroll down to the bottom of a topic page and reply using the default “Reply To:” box, your private message will be viewable by you, the admin (me), and the original topic author.
    B) If you click on light grey “Reply” link at the top of a specific post, your private message will be viewable by you, admin, and the the author of the post where you clicked “Reply”.

Try it out, see if it works, and let me know 🙂

Joe, is it still the case that a private message will only be visible to the person who started the particular forum topic (and to you of course)? It is my understanding that one cannot send a private reply to someone who commented on a topic, but did not in fact start the topic. I was asked to send a private reply to someone on one of the forums and I didn’t think it was possible. Could you please post an explanation about private messages/replies and how they can be used and what they do and do not do? Thank you very much. And thank you for a great website.

Two years ago I rode white pines to summit level rd. and back. Summit level rd connects to camp connell. Since I ususally ride alone, I am reluctant take off from camp connell to white pine via summit level without knowing the terrain. Anyone familiar with the road junctions?

Our two-piece number plaque has gone missing and we’d like to have it replaced.

Can anyone tell me where to have one made?

    Thanks!

In an earlier post I said the “sell” was in escrow. Should have been the “sale” was in escrow. I hate making stupid mistakes! 🙁

Put me second in line for the wood in case cmon4day doesn’t take it. Email me at dave2525@comcast.net. Let me know if you send me an email as I don’t usually check that email address.

We had an oak tree cut down (was rotted at the top). Bottom half does appear to be okay. Anyone know someone who would be interested in cutting this up for free fire wood?
Tried to send picture, however, I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the size.
About 11 ft long, about 34″ wide.
