ParticipantIs the pine firewood still available? I could pick it up late Monday or Tuesday as long as it’s not too heavy. I’m not a big guy, 5-6 and 140 lbs. My home phone is 925-939-2957.

ParticipantHi, is some wood still there? I am on Meko and will be up there next weekend. If there is some left, I will bring my truck up. I think I know what house is yours (if it is the same place I pass all the time) and I did see some wood there last weekend. I sent this message private.
Thanks

KeymasterThanks Gagacabin!
We’re down to the wire folks! Just 17 more contributions of $25 and Dana will have reached her goal of raising $4000 to help fight blood cancers.
I mentioned that Dana got her cast off early. Since then she’s been driving twice a week over to Sonora for Physical Therapy. She’s going to the event no matter what but can only participate on skis if she gets the Dr. to sign off on her ability to ski. Even if she doesn’t get the go ahead from the Dr., she’s going to support the team and help out with logistics, etc.
If you are one of the many generous BigTreesTechers who have contributed, THANK YOU! Please pass the word on to friends and neighbors!gagacabin
ParticipantCoffee and big trees tech is a great combo for me in the morning. I am sure I am not alone.
It has been discouraging to watch Dana’s goal slowing moving. Come on, lets’ end this snow curse.
I want to give a big thanks to Dana for her part in this fight against cancer. Also, a big thanks to her better half for making this site possible.
My hope is that in the next few days we can see that she has reached that goal.
I did my part, have you?allen
ParticipantNo problem joe. I’m just used to the first post on top. I will get used to it. 🙂

ParticipantWe still have the pine logs available to anyone who is interested. Let me know.

KeymasterHave you done YOUR PART to help lift the snow curse?
If So, would you care to share your motivation with other BigTreesTech visitors?
If not, do you have any questions regarding the validity of the cause for which Dana is trying to raise funds?
Even if you’re not a big believer in charitable fundraisers, you can also look at it as a way to show your appreciation for BigTreesTech.
All the best,
joe-

KeymasterYes, Allen. Several months back I changed it so that newest responses are displayed first. I found it frustrating to have to scroll through a long list to see the latest response when I clicked on the topic.
Like any other aspect of a user interface some people like it, some don’t. Unfortunately it cannot be changed on an individual basis.
FYI, I am not particularly fond of this forum platform but it is completely integrated into the WordPress framework and all of it’s security apparatus, stable as a rock and, simple as pie to maintain so I will probably not be changing it any time soon.

Participantjoe, have you changed the way posts are displayed? They are displayed with the newest one first now. Is there a setting somewhere to change this?

ParticipantI used to get analog TV reception with an antenna on the roof. No digital reception though. I don’t think anyone has gotten digital reception with an antenna up here.
You’ll have to get Comcast or Comcast. 🙂

ParticipantOur microcell from ATT was free. I just called them to inquire about the cost of leaving ATT to move to Verizon, and they offered the microcell. Works great so far (going on 4 months). Thanks for the idea of the prepaid Verizon phone. Smart !

ParticipantI think we are a little to far from any TV station to receive a signal, let alone HD.
Look around your cabin, how many trees? Clear line of sight to Sacramento?
For good TV signal, I think it’s Comcast or Dish.

ParticipantHas anyone tried getting HDTV reception over the air in the Big Trees Village area? Is an outside antenna required? Which channels are available? Thanks in advance.
