ParticipantIf you are up between now and April 3rd, you can call me at 1-209-795-5255 and I can come over and see what you need cut. An email will work fine too.

ParticipantIf you send me a “private reply” with your phone number, address, name and email, I can call the contractor I’m talking about and get you an estimate. Also, leave a yellow caution tape ribbon or some kind of ribbon on the tree and let me know which part needs to be cut or trimmed.

ParticipantI used the place off Summit Level Rd for years. I haven’t been there for a few years now because I hire someone to clean my lot.

ParticipantThis is an update on availability. I have two adult and two children’s Bear lift tickets. They were purchased during the x-mas holidays but it was too cold for my 4 year old granddaughter (20 degrees) during our intended ski days. Please email me at westlye@comcast.net if you’d like them. BV has been doing an amazing job of making and preserving snow> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKNr7cEU3Sk#t=23

ParticipantThe season is coming to an end and hope someone can enjoy two children’s lift tickets ( no restrictions). Send me a private message if you want them.

ParticipantI heard Brian might open for a little while this summer too. I don’t know for sure though. We are up here full time and try to burn before the burning season is over. If you use an 1 1/2 inch steel pipe with slits cut in it (the last four feet) and a squirrel cage motor on the other end of the pipe, burning is really fast. We can’t burn it as fast as we put it on. I use an eight foot pipe with a cap on the end. It will usually last two or three years.

ParticipantA contractor gave me the name of another guy that’s supposed to be cheaper then Dave Finn or Jason. I’m not at home right now, but I think we have his card. If we do, I’ll let you know later tonight or tomorrow (Sunday). This guy is insured and takes all the sash away.

ParticipantWe used Dave Finn to take down some trees, including one Oak.
Can highly recommend him, very professional and prompt.

ParticipantI have been to Alice’s many times and always enjoyed it.

ParticipantI know this isn’t about Big Trees, but a friend said they saw a helicopter and smelled smoke near Avery yesterday evening (Friday, Mar 20th). Anyone know if they had a fire down there?

ParticipantI don’t think Bonnie knows for sure when or even if the Lube Room will open. It’s looking good now though.

ParticipantI talked to Bonnie Seville, the current owner, yesterday and her son is having some work done on the Lube Room. She said they tore the old fence down, which she didn’t know about, so now they have rebuild it in order to get a liquor license. I’m not sur if she meant liquor or beer & wine license. Bonnie also said those Bay Area people are “different!” 🙂 The people that are buying it are from the Bay Area.

ParticipantI heard that the new owner is from the family that has Alice’s Restaurant up on the Skyline in Woodside. I have never been there yet, but have heard about it for years and I think it would be a good “fit”.

ParticipantLast I heard “unofficially” was the sell was in escrow and supposed have closed on September of 2014. If that’s true, the deal must have fallen through. I believe Bonnie Seville still owns it (the late Arden Seville’s wife). We have a cabin in Dorrington Meadows but haven’t talked to Bonnie since last year.
