ParticipantHi,
Do you snowmobile? Would you like to try it? Would you like to have a forum to keep up to date on what’s going on with the snowmobile community on the Highway 4 corridor?
I set up a facebook page called https://www.facebook.com/BVASR
It’s short for Bear Valley Area Snowmobile Riders. Please Like us to stay up to date. The page will follow things like:
– tailgates at the snowpark or out on the trail
– Full moon rides
– Group/social fun rides
– Latest conditions
– Legal /regulatory issues that can affect our sport
– Tech discussionsThe idea behind the page is for folks who like to snowmobile can set up group rides, share stories, pictures and status on the current conditions on the highway 4 corridor.
PS – for those that have not tried snowmobiling, you can rent a sled from Bear Valley Snowmobile and take a ride out to Spicer Lake, Hermit Valley or Highland Lakes. For those of you who have only seen those areas in the summer, to see them in the winter is really awesome. if you are interested in renting a sled this winter – check out their web page at – http://www.bvsnowmobile.com/reservations/
The season is just about to get underway!!!!!

KeymasterWell, 75% of the change to the new router went smoothly and was done within an hour or two… Then, it took the rest of the entire day trying to deal with the last 25%. When I finally quit for the day I was only able to put a bandaid on the last issue so I’ve got more time to put into it at some point in the near future.
I’ve been doing BigTreesTech for about a decade now… at some point I’m going to loose interest or ability to keep it up. While I’m not ready to walk away just yet, if you are interested and believe you are technically capable of taking it over, please get in touch with me and we can start talking casually about a possible transition.
Oh, and if you are not interested in taking over but you appreciate the site… did you see the DONATE button?bigtreestechman
KeymasterThere may be some down time for BigTreesTech on Sunday, 11/30 while I replace a router and reconfigure several devices.

ParticipantThe are checking power lines. They have been parked at Calaveras Airport nights.

KeymasterFYI, the 12,500+ visits we’ve had over the last 30 days have been from over 2,500 unique visitors. In the winter, when weather becomes more interesting we have seen more than double that number.

ParticipantLooking at the latest forecasts…we could have orange juice snow cones on Sunday morning. Not enough powder to go sledding but enough to make the trees pretty for a day or so.

ParticipantAt first I thought it was a Cal Fire Tanker plane, but there’s been no lightening that I know of.

Any idea what they may be doing?bigtreestechman
Keymaster🙂 Now that it’s stopped raining I’ll go out and clean out the rain collector.

ParticipantWater pressure was very low today around 3pm until 5pm. Does anyone know of the reason?

ParticipantThanks for all the responses. We’ve gone with a Big Horn safe from Costco. Heavy safe, good price and free shipping.
