A couple years ago there was plans for a place near Tamarack Lodge for snow tubing. Anyone know if this is still a plan, or if it will be open this season? Drove by this afternoon, couldn’t see any signs regarding it.
As already mentioned, Brian Gundert, The Tree Whisperer, is licensed and does really great work. He has done tree falling and trimming for me for 8-10 years. A couple of years ago, a large fir started to topple over towards our cabin but got hung-up in an adjoining tree. Brian was able to fell the tree clear of the cabin and saved us monumental damage ot the cabin if the tree had continued on its path towards the cabin. He is professional and a really nice guy and has reasonable rates. I would highly recommend him. His contact info listed in original two posts.

Pleinair47Carlshome, I guess I was confusing folks. We have a propane tank that was originally installed just for heating in our cabin and in a bonus room above the garage. I wish the line ran near the stove in the kitchen or the water heater, but it doesn’t. Anyway, we can either install a generator where the gas line comes into the cabin, and add the appropriate wiring, or put it by the existing panel, and get a gas line to it. I’m guessing the former option is cheaper, but I don’t know yet. (I’d like to just talk my wife out of the idea, but that would definitely be a bigger project…)
I have used Seth numerous times over the years. The last few years there has not been much burning, but I call him in the spring to clean needles off the roof. If he cleans your flue in the spring, the needle cleaning has been part of the deal.

You got that right. Seth is a great asset your our community. I’ve also had him clean my roof valleys as I’m not going up two stories on a 12/12 roof. He does gutters too.

Your original post suggested a propane powered generator. If you are installing a propane tank, and associated plumbing you are more than half way to propane stove and water heater. I suggest that while the plumber is there installing the gas line, that you run a gas line in the direction of your stove and/or water heater. This will give you the option of gas appliances in the future when one of them needs to be replaced.
