ParticipantFrank Stone’s daughter, Heather, contacted me and said that she would be taking over her fathers business so as a daily they’re still in the game.

ParticipantWe left our cabin at the top of Murrietas Roost right at 4pm yesterday and the snow WAS coming down pretty hard. Turned to rain at about Avery and all precip was gone by the time we went through Angels Camp. I was bummed when I checked your web cams this morning and saw nothing on the ground. Maybe as the week progresses we’ll get some. Back up next weekend!

ParticipantI figured that if I left the country it would snow, I should have left in January! It looks like the dry weather followed me to Denmark.

Participant🙂 Yeah, bring on the snow. Better late then never!
Dogwood
ParticipantI plan on coming up the next weekend. I see the free disposal at red hill and will do a haul then.
Folks in the other part of the Sierra get free pick up of needles and brush if they are bagged and placed at the end of their driveways.
Dogwood
ParticipantI hauled about 3 yards to millers before they stopped taking needles. I have about 3 more to go. I have thought about using a metal barrel with vent holes to burn. Not only could you control the burn completely but also the controlled heat would make cleaner smoke. I prefer not to burn as well.

KeymasterI can hardly believe it… There’s snow in the forecast for Dorrington this Sunday and there are a few dogwood blooms out up here. I was sure that this was going to be THE year that the old adage “it has to snow on the dogwood blooms” would finally not come to pass.

ParticipantDetermineing how much yard waste is on a lot is pretty much impossible. We have one cabin in BTV that’s about 3/4 acre. We usually burn and the total after a normal winter is about 8 or 9 yards. We bought a “fixer” cabin last year in Dortington Meadows and the lot had not been cleaned in over 30 years. Between our burning before they stopped burning for the summer, a 30 yard bin and what we took to Brian Rawley’s, we took at least 70 yards, probably more. That lot is about 1/3 acre. We clean the entire lots at both places, but not down to the dirt.

ParticipantI’ve been using Dan Lamm to clean my lot. He’s a member of CalFire, so he knows what is required and does a good job. Cost is about $300 plus the disposal fee.
