ParticipantJust a friendly reminder that fireworks are BANNED in Calaveras County east of Murphys along the Highway 4 corridor.
Translation: No fireworks allowed east of Murphys. If you are in Arnold, you are east of Murphys. If you are in Camp Connell you are east of Murphys. If you are in Dorrington you are east of Murphys. If you are ANYWHERE east of Murphys, fireworks are BANNED!
If anyone has friends coming up, tell them to leave their fireworks at home.

ParticipantI heard “through the grapevine” that the whole deal is still in escrow. Is it true? I dunno’. Just sayin’ that’s what I heard.

ParticipantWhat’s going on?
Paving in front of lube Room was done and handicapped striped.
Now they re-paved it. What happened did CalTrans get involved??craig
ParticipantI contacted info@ironstonevineyards.com and received this very detailed reply from the GM. I thought I would pass it along if anyone else was interested.
We advertise 4:30 as the opening time, however, if traffic backs up on Six Mile Road the California Highway Patrol makes us open early. There is always an initial influx of vehicles when we open the gates whether it be earlier than announced or at 4:30. After the initial opening the next “rush” of traffic comes around 6:00 pm. Since we use the entire facility for Independence Day, there is plenty of lawn seating for everyone. Many families go to the lower lawn while others go to the amphitheatre.
Again, while 4:30 is our advertised time to open the gates, if we are ordered to open early due to road congestion we will comply.

ParticipantWe installed three venting skylights and they are awesome to vent out our cabin. Plus they add more light. They are definitely more expensive but when hey are all the way open, the temperature in the cabin drops at least ten degrees.

ParticipantOur cabin has an attic. The trusses are “scissor” trusses so there’s a couple of feet between the ceiling and the roof in the center (an attic). So the air is pulled out of the cabin (with a couple windows open) and into the attic, where it leaves through side vents and a gable vent. Without an attic, I don’t know how it would work. Some of the air goes out through the ridge vents. Is that what you mean by roof line venting?

ParticipantI’m considering attending the Ironstone 4th of July celebration on Saturday with my family. I’ve attended before, but it’s been a few years. I seem to remember arriving at the time listed for “gates open” (4:30), only to find most of the lawn seating already occupied. Ironstone must allow people to start lining up well ahead of the “gates open” time. Does anyone know how this works or how far in advance people start lining up? Thanks for any info.

ParticipantI was told one year that because of the roof line venting that this out have to be closed off for the fan to work properly. Does this sound reasonable?

ParticipantI would also recommend checking with Canton Construction – 209 795 4506

ParticipantI think the entire project was a disaster. Just my opinion. It will be interesting to see how well the new paint holds up.
As I recall, the old pavement was in fine shape and didn’t really need to be re-paved anyway.
Yes, the project was interrupted and delayed a few times. I thought they would never finish! 🙂

ParticipantI installed my own a few years ago. I would highly recommend one of theses QuietCool systems. I love ours. Extremely quiet and works very well. However, they are “pricy” but well worth it in my opinion. Sorry, but I don’t have any contractor recommendations.
I see they do have a number to call to find a QuietCool installer.

Participantrevisiting this again. I’ve had Canton do work before. looking for other recommendations. is anyone noteworthy?
