ParticipantI did not want to start naming names but those that you named have been very good about service. They are part of the “but not all” group.

ParticipantHi Joe & Dana – the check will need to be mailed directly to LLS (my employer’s requirements).
tatonka
ParticipantIn the past, she has gone to Italy this time of year.

KeymasterThe usual way checks are handled is they are made out to LLS and then given or sent to the participant (P.O. Box 4473, Camp Connell, CA, 95223-4473.
Then Dana and/or I fill out a form and send the check along with the form into LLS.
In case that won’t work, I have asked the team manager if there is a different process that can be used where the checks do not go through the team member.
Thanks,
joeWestlye
ParticipantWishing Dana a quick recovery! Leukemia & Lymphoma society is such a worthy cause. Also, thank you Joe and Dana for all that you do to make our community a better place. I will need to snail-mail a check (workplace payroll deduction): do you have an address and contact at L.L.S. that the donation can be forwarded to?

ParticipantJust curious as to why Sara’s was closed this weekend? When we came up Friday Night they were closed and did not appear to be setting up yesterday on our return trip home. Hopefully just taking the weekend off?

ParticipantI have found that the majority of business owners and workers in the Arnold area great. Especially at Ebbetts Pass Sporting Goods, the Outhouse, Arnold Clothing and Boot, Ace and Sarafinas.
Of course, there will always be a few sourpusses out their at the local businesses, just like anywhere.

Keymasterhuh, I’m surprised at that… Most of the shops up here are very appreciative of all their customers, whether they be locals, part time residents, one time visitors from the US, or foreigners.
Most (but unfortunately not all) of the locals are also aware and appreciative of the contribution that visitors make to the local economy.
Never is a strong word… one of the strongest, and when put in all caps takes on an even more ominous tone…
I’m curious as to how local businesses have never expressed their appreciation for your business in our community. I would guess that every business owner and manager would also like to know how appreciation was not expressed because pretty much all of them are quite thankful for your patronage!Flyer
ParticipantWe do not live here in the mountains but have had cabins up here since the mid 80’s.
We try to always spend money shopping, gas, restaurants, cabin supplies etc. up in Arnold and Dorrington and not bring everything up. We understand business and if we, as part timers, do not support these businesses they will not be here when we need them. But I have seen for years that many of these, not all, businesses NEVER seem like they appreciate business we bring. Now granted many of the folks that are working are employees but companies attitudes resonate from the top down. Maybe just a little ” hi good to see you again and thanks for your business” would be nice occasionally.bigtreestechman
KeymasterI know some of you have participated in Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fundraising teams in the past. Did you know that this year for the ski team, no transportation is provided? Participants are personally responsible for the cost of getting themselves to the Motel in Anchorage Alaska and back… not just the airfare but ground transportation as well.
Your contribution will not help to offset those personal costs. However… HOWEVER… it will help to find a cure or hopefully a prevention for blood cancers. HERE is your chance to help. Please take it!fourni1
ParticipantWayne Varn 795-1666 is good guy that will get rid of it for a good price

KeymasterThe cost to do a human Genome in 2001 was about one hundred Million Dollars… that’s just for one single individual.
The cost today is under ten thousand dollars and it is about to take another steep nosedive… Why? Well, in part due to the contributions made to help fight cancer and the results of research done funded by those contributions.
Want to help? We’re asking for it. Here’s how! DO IT! -
