Tortuga, thanks for starting this thread. Because of it, we tried the chicken tacos and tamales today-both were excellent, and the price was right. $1.25 for a small double shell toasted taco, loaded with tasty chicken and salsa…A big guy needs 3, or 4 is even better. 😉 We’ll be back.

Nice to know a little background. Our snow schedule this year will probably include a fair number of Monday ski days so we can try the truck for dinner on the way to flats.
I agree, the other eats aren’t “Mexican” by any means — I wasn’t making taco/burrito comparisons, just suggested good quick-ish eats for the drive to/from. Sidewinders does rotate a good ale selection 🙂
Really a great American story that taco truck.
He came up the hill to open a resturant, couldnt get a loan so he got a truck.
He is renting that spot to open his establishment in that bdlg eventually.
Coming from Texas and living in Az, I got to really miss good Mexican food. The other places mentioned in the post above cant hold a candle to our local taco truck.
Stop by and see for yourself.
Really nice family as well.
Good to know! We’ve recently been doing the 9-10PM Thurs evening arrival so missing the open hours.
For to/from the flats eating when on better hours, we also like Sidewinders in AC and Firewood and El Jardin in Murphys with an occasional Giant Burger.
It’s posted hours used to be 10-6 Mon-Sat, but I haven’t been there in a few months. Yep, as Allen says the burritos are good, and I think the tacos are great!
