Yep, those are old logging cables. There are some smaller cables at Alpine that may have been used for something else.

Most likely cables used for hauling cut trees from where er were cut to where they were processed to be trucked or trained out of the forest. They might also be broken cables that they use for strapping the trees down on the logging trucks.
