ParticipantI don’t think I ever knew his last name. Just “Al.” There was a group of people that had coffee in the mornings there. A friend of ours used to go every morning. Al’s wife used to take care of the videos (VHS) but I think she became ill and Al ran the store by himself the last few years before he retired.

ParticipantThe little grocery store was run by Al (don’t know his last name). Of course Arden and his wife owned the store. I saw Al a few weeks ago at the post office and he looks like he is doing well. Not sure if you meant Arden or Al.

ParticipantWow…sorry to hear that Arden passed away. Since I started building my place in 1993, he was a regular face when I stopped by his little grocery store…and video rental (remember what those are?).

ParticipantDoes anyone have any updates on the Lube Room? It is almost a year since they applied for a liquor license. Did they get it? Did the plan to reopen fall apart? I don’t see any activity and the application announcement outdated now. I imagined if there were plans to reopen it would happen in the summer to take advantage of all the camping and fishing folks.

ParticipantI drove by on my way back from Arnold. The license was applied for by Bonnie Lee Saville, the late Arden Saville’s wife. The license type is 47 so it will be same as before; restaurant, beer and wine.
==========================
Type – 47: ON SALE GENERAL – EATING PLACE – (Restaurant) Authorizes the sale of beer, wine and distilled spirits for consumption on the licenses premises. Authorizes the sale of beer and wine for consumption off the licenses premises. Must operate and maintain the licensed premises as a bona fide eating place. Must maintain suitable kitchen facilities, and must make actual and substantial sales of meals for consumption on the premises. Minors are allowed on the premises.
