    Has anyone tried Geico or Liberty Mutual?

    Ours was with Nationwide and went from $790 to $1900. Now have a company out of Arizona.

    I think we’re around $1600+/y. We had to rebid August 2016 and found very few agents who could bid a policy for us. We ended up with a policy with Evanston Insurance. A few agents offered a policy via Evanston with premiums all over the place for the same coverage. It was a lengthy process and I hope not to have to repeat next August.

    I paid $703 for fire coverage through California Fair Plan and another $800 for all the other homeowners insurance from Travelers.

    So, I’m in for over $1400 a year.
