My new theory... The Fear Bubble... we had the dot com bubble, then the housing market bubble, then the commodities bubble, but methinks that there's been a more subtle, more sinister, more invasive, cancerous bubble growing... the fear bubble. And, it's about to pop.
When it does, watch out... there are going to be lots of pundits, talk show hosts, and perhaps even entire networks out of work. The unemployment rate may go up, but the rest of us will take a breath of fresh air, and say a little prayer of thanks for the new found peace, tranquility, civility, patience, and tolerance.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could disagree, talk about our point of view and actually listen to our fellow wanderer's perspective without taking a stand defined for us by a person who is compensated for diligently addicting us to their worrisome, fearful, or angry views of the world (and even those contrived to maximize profit).
There's an old (by youthful standards) song that says "don't worry, be happy". From what I recall of the Bible, that has some pretty heavy backup!
Now, if only I could consistently follow my own advice ;-)
Please forgive the op-ed.
